Honorable Mention – 2010 International Photography Awards

Last summer, one of my favorite subjects passed away.  Jackpot had an amazingly beautiful spirit that I’ve never forgotten.  Just weeks before he passed away, his mom hired me to go with the two of them to the beach for a photo shoot.  We had a wonderful time together, and there are several photos from that shoot that I love (including the first photo that pops up when you enter my website).  But the one below entitled ‘Soulful’ says it all…

So, I am very pleased to say that ‘Soulful’ has been recognized as an Honorable Mention in the 2010 International Photography Award competition for the professional pet category.  Thank you Jackpot, wherever you are!

Dog Portrait – Cesar, Antelope

Cesar the Frisbee Dog!  This frisbee obsessed pit bull came all the way from Wyoming for his portrait session!  This guy is the cousin of Miss Abby, my ball obsessed black lab subject from last fall…  After seeing Abby’s coffee table book, Cesar’s dad decided he needed one of his own!  And Cesar was just as crazy and fun to photograph as Abby, launching himself crazy high into the air after his beloved frisbee.  Just take a look at the joy on this boy’s face!

People and Pets – Gena, Brooke, and Mia, Stockton

Look at this trio of of beautiful girls!  Gena and Brooke said that they don’t often sit for photos, but they could have fooled me!  They were quite the naturals.  As for Mia, the sweet and gorgeous Husky pup… well, it was just impossible to take a bad photo of that girl!  These three were lots of fun to photograph, and we had a great time goofing off on University of the Pacific campus…
